Job Description

The Role:

One of our Private clients is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Network Engineer to assist them with an exciting project with a large Federal Government Department.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Participating in Government and Industry workshops to capture evolving requirements feeding into ICT facility designs.
  • Producing high-level network designs that detail requirements
  • Providing advice relating to the application of the network designs to the deployed environment.
  • Participating in associated gate reviews and design approvals.
  • Ensuring relationships with all Project stakeholders are developed and maintained.
  • Leading/facilitating stakeholder meetings to develop and translate ICT facility requirements into network designs and detailed specifications.
  • Contributing to development and implementation of ICT infrastructure designs.
  • Validating existing design artefacts to ensure network designs have sufficient facility allowances to support requirements for a Voice, DUN, DRN, DSN, WLAN and VTC solutions.
  • Participating in related working groups with project stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Experience implementing solutions for the Unclassified, Protected and Secret domains.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of the Defence CAN/LAN connection to the WAN.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of the Defence SATCOM environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Next Generation and Software Defined Networking principles and design.
  • Skilled and effective communicator, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, participate in project meetings and engage with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in an environment that can be uncertain and ambiguous at times.
  • Effective planner with efficient time management skills.
  • Above average troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to conduct research, as well as rapidly learn new concepts and tasks, with a view of improving technical knowledge and skills.
  • Good understanding of Defence projects and the Capability Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of Defence IT systems.
 

Location: Canberra

Contract Term: Long term project - 12 months with multiple extension options
 
Security Requirements: To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. Due to the work environment, our client has requested that all candidates must hold a current NV2 Baseline Security Clearance.
