Job Description

Portfolio Management Office has a requirement for a Portfolio Management Analyst with broad experience in project management, cost modelling and systems engineering to undertake a number of capability development and program/project management-related activities during the 2021-22 financial year.
Work will involve the development and implementation of portfolio management frameworks and functions related to prioritisation, financial and resource planning, architectural and strategy alignment and report production.

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Desirable: Management of Portfolios Practitioner and/or Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner accreditation
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support and assurance to major project planning activities, including reviewing and supporting the development of cost models and other key project artefacts.
  2. Develop and implement core elements of ASD’s Portfolio Management framework including Benefits Realisation, Performance tracking, Prioritisation and Risk Management functions.
  3. Conduct portfolio, programme and project analysis activities, reviewing performance data to identify and produce reports that articulate portfolio-level risk and issues to be feed into decision-making bodies.
  4. Assist in regular quality reviews of internal Portfolio Management processes and outputs.
  5. Provide effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring customers’ expectations, requirements and needs are captured within work-plans.
Location and Contract Term: The role is based in Canberra. 12 months from commencement date.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.
