Job Description

The Role:

One of our Private clients is looking for an experienced Senior Information Security Analyst to assist them with an exciting project with a large Federal Government Department.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Provide risk assessments, security advice and guidance to the appropriate teams and customer.
  • Investigate, assess and report on the development or spread of potential information security threats and vulnerabilities that may impact our client and/or their client’s information security.
  • Maintain awareness of trends in the development of Information Security, including through participation in industry forums
  • Maintain compliance program requirements for DSPF/PSPF, Australian ISM and I-RAP Assessments
  • Identification of inefficient procedures or processes and suggesting improvements for implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for business development within the existing client base, either through the creation of new services or through the expansion of delivered services
  • Contributing to pre-sales activities either for the team or as the Security SME for MS bids.  Be prepared and able to lead the Security Services contribution to MS bids
  • Provide support and mentoring to other members of the Security Services team
  • Prepare and review documentation related to services, procedures or clients as required
  • Perform security evaluations of infrastructure changes as the Security stakeholder of the MS ITIL Change Management process
  • Manage as part of the Incident and Problem Management team, the resolution of security incidents.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • In depth knowledge of security related Network and System infrastructures gained over at least 8 years with a large-faceted organisation preferably IT Outsourcing, Government, or other organisation running mission-critical systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of IT Security Management principles and delivery within an ITIL-based operational framework.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience working in an environment in compliance with (though not necessarily accredited to) those information security standards
  • Understanding of basic network principals, especially IP networking, and including the nature of common protocols and products (eg, HTTP, SSH)
  • Understanding of the principles of network security technologies, and specific experience with the management of an enterprise-class product
  • Understanding and experience in Cyber related tooling such as Vulnerability management tooling, network protection, modern threat protection.
  • Beneficial domain expertise: Risk and Governance, Cryptology, Forensic, Lead Security Incident Management, Audit and Compliance, Policy, Virtualisation, and Cloud technologies and Application Security
  • Basic system administration skills on supported operating systems (Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, Sun Solaris, HP-UX), and a general understanding of the security features of various operating systems
  • Exposure to, and understanding of the role of, key information security standards: ISM, DSPF/PSPF, and AS/NZS27001+AS/NZS27002, or other equivalent documents
  • Understanding of risk management principles, as outlined in AS31000, and the application of risk assessment processes to information security
 

Location: ACT, NSW or VIC

Contract Term: 6 months

Security Requirements: To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. Due to the work environment, our client has requested that all candidates must hold a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
