Job Description

The project support officer will work with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will be required to engage and build working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, undertake forum secretariat functions and program status report writing, and contribute to the planning of program and project management activities.

Skills and Knowledge required / Major Responsibilities:

  1. Provide proficient assistance with program support tasks including the administration and coordination of program documentation.
  2. Accountable for accurately and frequently inputting and validating Program data in a large government department corporate databases in-line with their policies.
  3. Accountable for gathering Program data and using it to write program status reports to senior management.
  4. Accountable to provide general administrative and secretariat duties/tasks, and complete these to a high standard in tight timeframes.
  5. Create and maintain a program forum schedule to ensure meetings are convened in accordance with senior management guidance.
  6. Take the initiative to pro-actively progress work and pre-empt the needs of the program to meet business objectives.
  7. Understand the reasons for decisions relating to program support and the broader impacts and implications of activities, anticipate and respond to the needs of the program accordingly.
  8. Apply knowledge and experience of legislation, policies, strategies and team plans to program support work.
  9. Work respectfully, collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
  10. Build and sustain productive working relations with internal and external stakeholders, and be responsive to their requests.
 
Level 2 – Practitioner

Length of contract: 10/01/2022 - 09/01/2023
Contract extensions: 2 x 12-month extension options at the Commonwealth's discretion
 
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, we require minimum NV1, TSPV preferred.
