Job Description

  1. Design, develop, manage and implement new data extracts, transformations and load routines using IBM InfoSphere 11.x.
  2. Design and build ETL to undertake data quality activities for various data structures using DataStage and QualityStage components.
  3. Work with external and internal customers/team to identify data quality requirements for development of ETL DQ processes and solutions.
  4. Participate in requirements, design and code reviews, documentation of design and implementation of methodologies to ensure consistent and accurate data quality outcomes.
  5. Conduct quality assurance activities.
  6. Conduct People Domain profiling, analysis and reporting against domain data sources.
Skills and Knowledge required / Major Responsibilities:
  1. Strong working knowledge of IBM DataStage Versions 11.x including QualityStage components and Information Analyzer.
  2. Working knowledge of querying relational databases ( preferably IBM DB2 & Data Studio) through the development of custom SQL to analyse and retrieve data sets.
  3. Working knowledge of industry best practice in undertaking governance/data quality activities.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a mixed employment team consisting of APS and contracted personnel, including the provision of mentoring and coaching.
  5. Experience in and/or willingness to work within a data governance team developing within an agile development methodology.
  6. Preference for experience with Enterprise Unix (preferably RedHat Linux) for the manipulation and administration of reference files and data sets.
  7. Preference for working knowledge of IBM Cognos , Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools.
  8. Preference for a working knowledge of Peoplesoft within a large government department.
Location of work: Australian Capital Territory
Length of contract: 12 Months
Contract extensions: 3 years
