Overview
Our large Government client has a requirement for an experienced Procurement Support Officer to supplement the contractor workforce. This proposal seeks to engage a Procurement Support Officer - Advanced Practitioner to assist with supporting and accurately administering ICT procurement activities within the organisation. This includes drafting and preparing procurement document packs and obtaining necessary approvals in accordance with Departmental procurement policy and legislation; liaising with relevant staff and procurement stakeholders, to progress procurement activities efficiently and cooperatively; maintaining an overview of concurrent procurement activities and appropriately forecasting and prioritising work effort.
The Procurement Support Officer will be expected to undertake simple and complex ICT procurement activities to support the deliverables and projects in a manner that is compliant with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs). The Procurement Support Officer will be confident with task coordination, communication and maintaining ‘dashboards’ or similar artefacts to support briefing, decision making and record keeping. This includes ensuring staff have appropriate information and defensible audit records regarding current and historic procurement activities.

This role is based in Canberra, with a start date of Monday 27 Feb 2023 for 12 months, with 2x12 month extensions available.
Security Requirements

Essential criteria
It is essential that the Contractor has the following qualifications and practical experience for this task:
- Minimum of Procurement & Contract Management Diploma or related Degree required;
- Demonstrated experience as a Procurement Officer, or similar role;
- Demonstrated experience delivering procurement support to executive level staff in a Government Department;
It is essential that the Contractor has the following qualifications and practical experience for this task:
- Is formally trained in, or has practical experience in the Defence Change Management Process;
- Experience with IT Service Management Frameworks, such as ITIL;
- Experience in Software Asset Management;
- Sound compliance with managing and maintaining procurement data in Defence’s corporate record keeping application; and
- Previous Defence experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
Desirable criteria
- Sound skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Highly effective written skills to support documentation and communication requirements; and
- Ability to work effectively in an agile team environment.
