Senior Project Officer
Location: Canberra - Belconnen
Desired Start Date: 23/05/2022
End Date: 25/11/2022
We are looking for people with demonstrated influencing, negotiation and engagement capabilities and an ability to develop and use relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders. Applying strategic engagement principles when consulting and informing the community is a key part of this role.
It is important that you can identify and prioritise issues and implement practical solutions, including knowing when to escalate. This role requires sound conceptual, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
The position occupant will be expected to adhere to administrative, financial and contractual processes and manage the design and community engagement processes ethically and with integrity. This includes maintaining accurate record keeping. The position occupant may be asked to perform administrative tasks.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Demonstrated experience in contemporary project management practices and delivering design and or construction projects including the ability to manage priorities and achieve deadlines in an environment of change and pressure.
2. Demonstrated negotiation, liaison, written and oral communication skills, including experience in preparing documents, papers and correspondence.
3. Demonstrated research, conceptual and analytical skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgement and provide timely and defensible advice to decision-makers.
4. Demonstrated understanding of risk management concepts, standards, methodologies and management tools in construction and design projects.
5. Knowledge of procurement for Government within the construction industry, including knowledge of Government procurement processes, or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
6. Proven ability to work independently and collegially as part of a team, to deliver high quality outputs under tight timelines.
7. Proven ability to work to multiple deadlines and deliver quality outputs and results under pressure.
8. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the client Values framework, Respect, Equity and Diversity Framework and work health and safety best practice.
