Our Large Federal Government client is seeking a System Test Engineer who will be accountable under general direction to manage complex activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation. The role will facilitate planning, organisation, integration and delivery of complex systems engineering services and products.
Skills and Knowledge:
Location: Canberra ACT
Contract terms: 12 months
Extension options: 2 x 12-month period at the discretion of the Commonwealth.
SFIA security level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Minimum four years of test experience within missions, programs and management processes
- Relevant professional qualifications (engineering). Expertise in advanced multidisciplinary engineering, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials and equipment sufficient to apply experimental theories, principles and concepts to project development
- A qualified practitioner with specific qualifications or industry training (Bachelors or above) or relevant industry experience of more than 12 years.
- Engineering positions require a Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.
- Establish a test framework and perform functional, system and validation/verification tests on a range of systems.
- Manage reporting and documentation of all formal testing outcomes to relevant Project Directors and technical teams, ensuring all identified defects are rated for impact and priority and resolved by technical teams.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with end users, technical accreditation personnel, operational support teams and other stakeholders, to proactively identify and plan testing requirements of components and system deliverables.
- Manage testing and requirements verification of the system performance, usability, function and system integration, in line with established standards and practices.
