📌 Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD Specialist to support the design, drafting, and documentation needs of a large government agency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in computer-aided design (CAD) software, a strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver precise and compliant technical drawings.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
- Develop and revise detailed CAD drawings, schematics, and layouts for infrastructure, facilities, or equipment projects
- Interpret engineering and architectural specifications, sketches, and field notes to produce accurate technical documentation
- Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with agency-specific protocols and federal regulations
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and field personnel to gather requirements and resolve design challenges
- Manage and archive digital drawing files using agency-approved systems and naming conventions
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of CAD deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support GIS integration, 3D modeling, and BIM workflows as needed
- Provide training and technical support to internal teams on CAD tools and standards
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra. Contract role with extension options.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a NV2 security clearance.
