About

Our story

Work is a part of life. While we don’t all live to work, we do mostly work to live. Recruitment is a people business. When individuals feel heard, supported, and engaged, they do better work. Organisations benefit from that.

Whizdom was established in 2006 to help make those connections possible. With offices in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane, we match skilled professionals nationwide with roles that align with their expertise and offer meaningful work, while helping organisations build capable, cohesive teams that are ready for what’s next.

We’re an Australian-owned and operated business which puts people before profits. As a certified Level 3 DISP company, we can sponsor security clearances from Baseline to NV2. We're not owned by a foreign entity, which means we can align perfectly with government and defence clients to place vetted candidates into secure environments. Our advice is honest and independent. We adapt quickly to change and stay aligned with the industries we serve. Collaboration is central to how we operate—it shapes how we support our internal workforce, candidates, clients, and the relationships we build with all stakeholders.

The name Whizdom reflects our dual focus: helping technology and business support professionals—our “whizzes”—find roles that match their skills, and offering thoughtful, experience-based guidance to those we work with.

Placement isn’t the end of the process. We stay in touch. We offer same-day pay, EAP, structured onboarding, contractor and client events, regular feedback, and access to LinkedIn Learning, supported by a dedicated Training Manager. These are practical ways we support growth and wellbeing at work.

We believe in collaboration, not competition. That principle guides how we work—with clients, candidates, and each other.
