Our client is a major enterprise driving innovation and reliability across large-scale technology platforms. This role is pivotal in managing and optimising critical database infrastructure to support business growth and resilience.

About the role:
We are seeking a talented Database Administrator (DBA) with cloud experience to join a dynamic technology team. You’ll manage, maintain, and optimise relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra databases.
• Optimise database performance through query tuning, indexing, and system configuration.
• Implement and manage robust backup and recovery procedures.
• Enforce database security policies and manage user access.
• Diagnose and resolve database incidents, including connectivity and data integrity issues.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline administration tasks.
• Collaborate with development teams and IT professionals on deployments and migrations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident support.

Required Experience:
• 5–7 years as a DBA in an enterprise environment.
• Strong proficiency in administering and tuning at least two major relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of database architecture, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate in team-oriented environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
