Lead IT Accreditation Cyber Advisor

The Role:

The primary responsibility for this role requires the successful candidate to assess and evaluate the Departments IT systems ensuring they meet established standards, ensuring that providers adhere to relevant cyber security requirements that will utilised to produce technical documentation supporting the results.

The successful candidate will liaise closely with the Departments Cyber teams and other business areas. This role will ensure the protection and management of risks associated with information systems, contributing to a secure and compliant digital environment.

Primary Duties:
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across IT systems, applications, and third-party vendors.
  • Evaluate and monitor compliance with Australian Government requirements such as the PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with security governance objectives.
  • Support audits and certification processes (e.g. IRAP assessments).
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for business and senior executive, translating complex technical findings into clear, actionable treatments and recommendations.
 

Skills and Experience Required:  

1.Essential criteria Ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical ICT areas such as system administration, software development, and cloud computing. Experience in technical ICT areas such as system administration and software development

Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra. 12 month contract with 2 x 12 month contract extension options.

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a PV Security Clearance
