About the Role
As a Network Engineer, you’ll contribute to network design, support, and infrastructure operations across secure environments. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving network issues, implementing changes, and maintaining performance and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve network problems, providing preventative strategies
- Design and implement network changes and maintenance routines
- Monitor and optimise network performance and security
- Apply knowledge of Defence and industry-standard networking devices
- Contribute to network planning and support activities
Technical Environment:
- Enterprise proxy, load balancing systems, network security
- Experience with diverse systems and architectures
The Successful Candidate
You’ll be a skilled network engineer with experience in infrastructure operations, network support, and systems design. You’ll bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in secure environments.
Essential Criteria Includes:
- Systems Design (DESN Level 4)
- Infrastructure Operations (ITOP Level 4)
- Network Support (NTAS Level 4)
- Network Design (NTDS Level 4)

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD or Melbourne, VIC.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizens with a minimum NV2 (Negative Vetting 2) security clearance, though a TSPV (Top Secret Positive Vetting) is preferred. Candidates that do not hold a TSPV may be asked to undergo a clearance uplift. Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) are highly preferred.
