We are looking for a Senior Engineer for our Infrastructure Services team. The role involves operational and project work and coordinating activities with a team of 4 others.
Primary Duties:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:
- Day to day support of on-prem and cloud services including
- Management of Data Centre compute, backup and storage infrastructure
- Zscaler Internet Security
- SIEM and Vulnerability management tools
- Azure IaaS and PaaS environments
- AD and Entra ID
- Oversee and assist in the implementation of system hardening, patching and vulnerability management in line with federal government security frameworks.
- Assist in developing and implementing a team workplan
- Work with development and architectural teams to plan, design, implement new products and migrate services to cloud.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in environments or processes
- Drive the delivery of project outcomes in a timely, efficient and operationally effective manner
- Ensure the Data Centre & cloud environments are optimised for Austrade’s needs and are cost effective
- Liaise with external parties to manage product installations, maintenance, enhancements, and support work
- Consult and provide advice and assistance to management, users, external organisations, and IT staff as required.   
- Skill sharing, ensuring skills transfer and mentoring of staff to support career and technical growth
Skills and Experience Required:
1.Proven verbal and written communication skills
2.Demonstrated ability to manage small projects and achieve outcomes in agreed timeframes
3.Awareness of and experience implementing and maintaining cyber controls in line with PSPF requirements
4.Demonstrated technical capability and experience in one or more of the following: On-prem to Cloud Migrations VMware vCenter and ESXi Dell Server hardware Hitachi and Brocade SAN Cloud Backup products Azure IaaS and PaaS environments. SIEM and vulnerability management tool Active Directory Services, Group Policy and Entra ID
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra. 12 month contract with 1 x 12 month contract extension options. Hybrid working conditions available
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a NV1 Security Clearance
