About the Role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll lead network design, planning, and operations across complex infrastructure environments. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-performance, secure, and scalable network systems while mentoring teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead network planning and design to meet service level agreements
- Manage installations, upgrades, and operations of LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Apply change management practices to ensure continuity of operations
- Analyse complex network issues and recommend solutions
- Mentor teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Technical Environment:
- Enterprise proxy, load balancing systems, network security
- Experience with diverse systems and architectures
The Successful Candidate
You’ll be an experienced network engineer with strong technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills. You’ll bring deep expertise in network design, support, and infrastructure operations.
Essential Criteria Includes:
- Network Design (NTDS Level 5)
- Network Support (NTAS Level 5)
- Infrastructure Operations (ITOP Level 5)
- Systems Design (DESN Level 4)

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD or Melbourne, VIC.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizens with a minimum NV2 (Negative Vetting 2) security clearance, though a TSPV (Top Secret Positive Vetting) is preferred. Candidates that do not hold a TSPV may be asked to undergo a clearance uplift. Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) are highly preferred.
