Test Lead – Data Migration & SAS

About the client:
Our client is a major enterprise driving large-scale data migration and regulatory reporting initiatives. This role is pivotal in leading testing strategy and execution for complex SAS environments and credit risk platforms.

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Test Lead to join a high-performing team responsible for end-to-end testing of SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya platforms. You’ll play a key role in managing testing roadmaps, vendor relationships, and migration impact testing for critical credit risk and regulatory reporting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a 12-month forward-looking testing roadmap for credit risk, covering all types of testing across the UNITE platform.
  • Oversee migration impact testing, with a focus on data requirements from upstream systems and third-party service providers (TSPs).
  • Manage centralised business test scenario documentation for UNITE migration.
  • Align testing scope and dependencies between IAT, EET, and Dress Rehearsal phases.
  • Establish and govern a Testing Working Group with key stakeholders to proactively drive testing activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure clear communication and alignment on testing objectives.
  • Manage vendor resources and ensure effective vendor performance.
  • Utilise Unix-based file systems and manage SAS datasets as part of the testing process.
  • Apply DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Pipelines) to streamline testing workflows.
Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya.
  • Strong test management and vendor management experience.
  • Understanding of data lineage, metadata cataloguing, and regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Experience working with Unix-based file systems and SAS datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, CI/CD tools, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage vendor resources.
Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in large-scale data migration or regulatory reporting projects.
  • Familiarity with credit risk platforms and financial services environments.
What’s on offer?
This is a long-term contract role based in Sydney. You’ll play a key role in delivering robust, compliant, and high-impact testing solutions in a dynamic enterprise environment.
