About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Gateway Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance secure network environments within a high-assurance setting.
You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimising infrastructure across physical, virtual, and network domains, ensuring performance, resilience, and security standards are consistently met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and supporting network components in line with established architectures and design standards
- Translating high-level (logical) designs into robust physical infrastructure solutions
- Contributing to network architecture design, including topology development and alternative solutions
- Supporting incident response activities, including investigating suspected cyber security events
- Identifying and mitigating risks within technical solution designs
- Assisting in the development of contingency, recovery, and failover procedures
- Providing guidance on physical, technical, and procedural security controls
- Supporting continuous improvement through performance monitoring and infrastructure optimisation
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong infrastructure engineering experience within secure or enterprise environments, along with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Key requirements include:
- Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure engineering (SFIA Level 4 or equivalent)
- Strong background in systems design and infrastructure implementation
- Experience with networking concepts, architectures, and secure environments
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues and contribute to problem management
- Experience with system installation, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Knowledge of automation, scripting, and infrastructure management tools
- Strong understanding of performance, capacity planning, and operational procedures
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Adeliade SA
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: Senior – APS6 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
