About the Role
The Lead Cyber Security Content Designer will be responsible for designing, refreshing and delivering high‑quality cyber security training content tailored to a broad range of user groups with varying technical capability.
This role combines hands‑on technical cyber security expertise with strong instructional design and stakeholder engagement skills. You will ensure training content aligns with organisational strategy, complies with information security standards, and effectively improves cyber awareness and capability across the workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Refreshing and maintaining hands‑on cyber security training courseware for targeted audiences
  • Designing and delivering technical cyber security training, including face‑to‑face and online learning materials
  • Translating complex cyber security concepts into clear, engaging and practical content
  • Developing online learning resources, refresher videos and publicly available training material
  • Ensuring all content complies with the Information Security Manual and internal security requirements
  • Contributing to the continual improvement of cyber security education and capability uplift initiatives
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong blend of technical cyber security knowledge, content design expertise and communication skills.
Essential requirements include:
  • Proven ability to communicate cyber security concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience developing and/or delivering hands‑on cyber security training, including areas such as hacking methodologies, security technologies and log analysis
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
 
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: Senior – EL1 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
