About the Role
The client is seeking an experienced Lead Training Designer / Content Designer / Assessor to design, develop and deliver high‑quality learning solutions that uplift workforce capability.
In this role, you will lead the creation of professional learning experiences across digital and face‑to‑face environments, ensuring content aligns with organisational strategy and learner needs. You will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging and effective learning pathways.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing, developing and delivering professional learning materials, presentations and instructional content
  • Leading stakeholder engagement and user research to identify learning needs and requirements
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to build learning packages that communicate complex information effectively
  • Establishing structured learning pathways for varying levels of capability and experience
  • Ensuring learning content quality, consistency, usability, accessibility and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Contributing to and maintaining a catalogue of learning and development resources
  • Analysing data to evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously improve learning outcomes
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing learning and development materials end‑to‑end
  • Strong capability in specifying content, structure and learning environments, including testing and maintenance
  • Proven experience selecting appropriate tools, methods and design patterns to create effective learning experiences
  • Experience translating concepts into practical learning outputs and incorporating user feedback to enhance design
  • The ability to evaluate design options with consideration for performance, security, usability and accessibility
  • Experience ensuring alignment with visual design and branding guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
 
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: Senior – EL1 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
