About the Role
We are seeking experienced System Administrator – Infrastructure Engineers to support the implementation, management, and ongoing sustainment of ICT infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking, and cloud environments.
In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for maintaining highly available, reliable, and secure systems that underpin critical digital services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing routine and complex installations and de‑installations of hardware and software
- Maintaining and improving the reliability of ICT infrastructure through patching, upgrades, monitoring, and configuration management
- Supporting infrastructure automation and system build replication using scripting and automation tools
- Configuring and sustaining core system services such as monitoring, authentication, and logging
- Assisting with infrastructure maintenance, updates, and operational issue resolution
- Contributing to disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation
- Applying Defence and industry‑standard practices within secure environments
To be successful, you will bring strong systems administration experience, a methodical approach, and the ability to operate effectively in secure, enterprise-scale environments.
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience in ICT infrastructure operations and systems administration
- Strong knowledge across physical, virtualised, networking, and/or cloud infrastructure
- Experience using automation tools and scripting to support infrastructure provisioning and maintenance
- Ability to support availability, reliability, and disaster recovery outcomes
- Well‑developed troubleshooting and operational support skills
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: Senior – APS6 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Current NV2 Security Clearance is required. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
