About the Client and Role:
In the role of Program Engagement Officer, you will work in the Stakeholder Management team to support the Delivery of the program.
You will contribute to the efficient delivery via effective communication, liaison and community engagement to support program managers and project teams across the district, and development of stakeholder communication and correspondence material.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyse information to prepare high-quality written content for briefing notes and correspondence to ensure a clear, concise and consistent response to key external stakeholders and the broader community.
- Develop community engagement plans for projects, including the development of key messages, targeted engagement and communication strategies and associated materials.
- Preparation of communication materials, including research and writing media enquiries and releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, flyers, display materials, and other communication material for the Ministers Office and senior management.
- Respond effectively to media enquiries and prepare draft media releases.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of key external stakeholders.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of information and related project data and correspondence in accordance with departmental standards and records management procedures.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, succinct, and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders. Supports others by providing timely information within own area of expertise in an articulate and non-technical manner.
- Develops and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes for the program.
- Embraces new ideas/innovation and makes considered, ethical and courageous decisions, based on insight into the broader context of the program.
- Demonstrated respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards, upholding integrity through responsible management and use of processes and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of community engagement best practice and relationship management to deliver effective public consultation with stakeholders and wider community that ensures positive community and departmental outcomes while maintaining the department's reputation.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of government, executive correspondence, and best writing practice to develop, tailor and provide advice on ministerials, briefing notes and executive letters.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of issues/reputation management and provides advice to establish and maintain mutual understanding between the department and its stakeholders.

Located in Townsville.
