About the Role
Provide financial, business and reporting advice, and support related operational systems within Finance to maintain accuracy of data and financial records to meet the needs of the Department.
Provide accounting support services and liaison with the Department’s external transactional services provider on financial and reporting issues and continuous improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely advice and support for the preparation of statutory reporting and financial reporting for both the Department where required.
- Undertake analysis and review of financial reconciliations and related reporting prepared by GovConnect NSW and take action to ensure service delivery requirements are met through the timely and accurate resolution of issues.
- Administer financial related support systems relating to online banking, cash forecasting and financial support services, and provide coaching and support on systems and processes to support business requirements.
- Coordinate the management and payment of various corporate accounts and prepare accrual and adjustment journals and related financial information to support business requirements.
- Provide a range of financial services, including end of month processing and resolution of transactional and account reconciliation issues, to ensure that accounting, taxation and audit requirements are met.
- Provide a range of timely and efficient accounting and related financial services to support the day-to-day operations of the Finance Unit and staff across the Department.
- Work with GovConnect NSW to ensure service delivery requirements are met and escalations occur in respect of finance and accounting issues where necessary.
- Participate in special projects undertaken by the Finance Unit.
The Successful Candidate
- Undertaking several financial and accounting related issues concurrently, with varying timelines and workloads, in a demanding and high-volume work environment;
- Working with GovConnect, NSW Treasury and cluster agencies to ensure quality outcomes,
- Ensuring the accuracy and security of information contained in relevant systems and related databases.
Location and Contract Term:
- Sydney, CBD (Hybrid working arrangement)
- ASAP start until September 2026
Security Requirements: Full working rights & the ability to obtain an Australian police check.
