About the role

As an Advisory Officer with the Benefit and Personal Insurance team you will be required to ensure customers receive their legitimate entitlement to pension incomes and concessions and that these are received at the correct rate.

Assist in managing and implementing a range of projects, to support and improve service delivery

We are seeking someone who has a paralegal background or an insurance claims background, experience with these backgrounds would mean they are able to identify which clients may potentially be entitled to a TPD claim.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in managing a range of projects to deliver initiatives to the department.
  • Manage and undertake day to day and detailed aspects of project implementation, including monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and managing deliverables and tasks.
  • Assist with research and analysis to support the development of key projects across the department.
  • Assist in managing projects designed to review, monitor and improve the effectiveness of service delivery.
  • Provide day to day advice and communication to relevant project stakeholders regarding project status and implementation issues.
  • Assist in preparing a range of project related documents as instructed, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers.
  • Utilise and implement project management methodologies and processes in all projects.
Key challenges

  • Dealing professionally with tribunal members and parties.
  • Exercising judgement in a respectful manner when dealing with parties in an often volatile and emotive environment.
  • Identifying and responding to changing workloads and priorities, and meeting deadlines within tight timeframes in a high-volume environment.
