Our client is a large Queensland-based organisation focused on innovation, digital transformation, and delivering improved outcomes through emerging technologies. They are investing in the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence and are seeking an experienced AI Portfolio & Engagement Advisor to help identify, shape, govern, and deliver AI opportunities across the enterprise.

About the Role
As the AI Portfolio & Engagement Advisor, you will act as the primary engagement point for business areas seeking to leverage Artificial Intelligence. Working closely with business leaders, governance stakeholders, and delivery teams, you will identify opportunities, assess business value, guide initiatives through governance pathways, and support the successful adoption of AI solutions across the organisation.
This role combines business engagement, portfolio management, governance coordination, and strategic advisory capabilities to ensure AI investments align with organisational priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder consultations to identify and shape AI use cases.
  • Provide expert advice on AI capabilities, delivery approaches, and business adoption strategies.
  • Assess AI opportunities for strategic alignment, business value, feasibility, and organisational readiness.
  • Support the development of initiative concepts, value propositions, and business cases.
  • Maintain and manage the AI initiatives portfolio, pipeline, and opportunity register.
  • Monitor initiative progress, risks, dependencies, benefits, and delivery outcomes.
  • Coordinate governance, risk, assurance, privacy, security, architecture, and compliance activities.
  • Support stakeholders in completing AI governance and assessment requirements, including FAIRA processes.
  • Facilitate engagement between business owners, governance bodies, and technical delivery teams.
  • Prepare portfolio reports, executive dashboards, briefing papers, and governance updates.
  • Provide insights into AI demand, delivery performance, business benefits, and emerging opportunities.
  • Support AI capability uplift, adoption activities, Communities of Practice, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the evolution of AI governance frameworks, operating models, and engagement practices.
 
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, business relationship management, and advisory roles.
  • Strong portfolio, pipeline, or demand management experience within complex organisations.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and shaping business improvement or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops, business consultations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, assurance, and organisational approval processes.
  • Experience developing business cases, benefits frameworks, and investment proposals.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive reporting and presentation development.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, and organisational AI adoption strategies.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across business, technology, and executive stakeholder groups.
Highly Regarded
  • Experience supporting enterprise AI, innovation, digital transformation, or emerging technology programs.
  • Experience within government or large enterprise environments.
  • Formal qualifications in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, Change Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI practices, or AI risk management processes.
