Application Developer (DevOps)

The Role:.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Developer (DevOps) to join our Release Train in an agile delivery team.

You’ll be working as part of the Release Train in one of our Agile teams, contributing across the delivery lifecycle, including design, build, integration and testing, supporting the delivery of secure, reliable and high quality digital services. You will work under the guidance of senior team members and collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, testers and the Release Train Engineer.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

•       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage workloads and deliver under high-pressure situations.

•       Ability to be flexible and adapt to shifting priorities in the working environment.

•       Strong communications skills and internal and external stakeholder engagement and relationship.

•       Have minimum Baseline Security Clearance.

•       Assist with solution design activities, including contributing to technical design artefacts and identifying system impacts.

•       Support refinement of features and user stories, including clarification of acceptance criteria and non‑functional requirements.

•       Work with team members to understand business and technical requirements across BDE, SBR and DSG platforms.

•       Build, configure and enhance system components and integrations in line with agreed designs and standards.

•       Contribute to Agile sprint delivery, completing assigned tasks to agreed quality and timeframes.

•       Support integration activities across internal systems and external dependencies as required.

•       Participate in testing activities including unit, system, integration and regression testing.

•       Assist with development and execution of test cases and support defect investigation and resolution.

•       Work with testers and automation specialists to ensure quality standards are met prior to release.

•       Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through automation of routine tasks, processes and workflow refinement, and update to documentation.

•       Participate and provide knowledge transfer sessions, documenting procedures, fixes and workaround to assist team to work efficiently and smarter.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

•       Experience in one of the following programming languages: C# or Java.

•       Experience working in Agile delivery teams in a digital or IT environment.

•       Demonstrated experience contributing across design, build and test activities.

•       Exposure to BDE, SBR, DSG, or similar integration‑focused platforms or enterprise systems.

•       Experience working in an agile environment utilising tools such as Azure DevOps to manage and track work including bugs, issues and risks.

 

Location and Contract Term: This role is ACT , Melbourne or Adelaide based. 12 month contract  with 2 x 12 month contract extension options  pending budget and delegate approval.

Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a baseline security clearance.
