About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled APS6 Procurement Officer to provide specialist procurement advisory and operational support under a labour‑hire arrangement. In this role, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act, and agency‑specific requirements.
This is an onsite role with access to flexible work arrangements (up to one WFH day per week) and requires someone who can operate with autonomy, accuracy and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing high‑quality procurement advice, ensuring compliance with CPRs and the PGPA Act.
  • Supporting business areas in determining procurement needs and encouraging early engagement.
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating procurement records in TechOne, BuyICT, and AusTender.
  • Preparing documentation for approaches to market, procurement plans, panel engagements, reporting obligations and contract management.
  • Developing and maintaining internal procurement documentation, templates, and guidance material.
  • Supporting contract management activities, including reporting, relationship management, and compliance.
  • Ensuring appropriate recordkeeping, audit readiness, and adherence to agency practices.
  • Contributing to a positive culture aligned with APS and agency values.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated experience in Commonwealth procurement at the APS6 level or equivalent.
  • Experience using TechOne, BuyICT, and AusTender.
  • Strong understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Understanding of the PGPA Act and associated obligations.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver accurate, timely advice.
Highly Desirable:
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting (or progress toward).
  • Experience preparing high‑quality procurement documentation in a government context.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability.

Security Requirements
  • Must hold and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
