The Business Analyst will work within the Departments Enterprise Analytics & Integration team to deliver high‑quality data and analytics solutions. The role combines traditional business analysis capability with strong data literacy, enabling the translation of business needs into actionable and technically feasible analytics outcomes.
The position requires strong skills in eliciting and documenting requirements, user story creation, process analysis, and functional specifications, paired with applied experience in data storytelling, dashboard design, wireframing, and close collaboration with BI developers, and subject matter experts.
Primary Duties:
- Engage stakeholders, SMEs and data custodians to elicit and analyse analytics and reporting requirements.
- Translate requirements into clear User Stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and functional specifications.
- Design and iterate dashboard wireframes and conceptual data models with stakeholders.
- Apply data storytelling practices to guide design, highlight insights, and improve adoption.
- Work with BI developers to ensure feasibility and alignment with enterprise data models, SAP BW/4HANA structures, and SAC capabilities.
- Support end‑to‑end analytics delivery including design, development support, UAT coordination, documentation and handover.
- Promote best‑practice reporting, data governance, and enterprise analytics standards.
- Contribute to EAI’s analytics roadmap and deliver enterprise analytics products within an agile delivery environment.
Skills and Experience:
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms
• Ability to interpret data models, data lineage and source to report flows.
• Foundational SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Ability to validate data feasibility and ensure requirements align with underlying data structures.
• Experience with dashboard wireframing tools
• Strong understanding analytics delivery lifecycles, data governance principles and BI solution architecture.
Location and Contract Term: This role can be based in QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA, TAS with Hybrid working arrangements available. Contract till June 2026.
