Our client is a leading professional services and consulting firm, delivering strategy, technology, systems integration, and operations support across industries including Government, Financial Services, and Utilities.
About the role:
Working with a large utility client, the Business Analyst you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance and data management processes. You will conduct stakeholder analysis, develop communication plans, and execute communications. You will create metadata management repositories, captures business/data quality rules, and design data quality reports & dashboards. You will also work with technical resources to implement rules in data quality and automate.
Strong Energy & Utilities experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders to define desired business outcomes across finance, energy transition, asset management, and grid planning.
- Translate outcomes into high-level requirements, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops to align personas, use cases, value drivers, and operational needs.
- Analyse current-state processes and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers and grid engineers to define data needs and validate model outputs against business expectations.
- Ensure traceability between outcomes → requirements → features → delivered value.
- Contribute to business cases, prioritisation decisions, and delivery planning.
Key Skills & Experience
- 5+ years BA experience in Energy & Utilities.
- Strong business-focused mindset with ability to link outcomes to requirements.
- Understanding of energy & utilities, energy transition, electricity network operations and grid operations.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with data governance, data products, or data mesh.
- Agile delivery experience and contribution to feature roadmaps.
