About the End Client

The end client is a large organisation operating within a regulated environment where secure delivery, strong governance, and reliable release management are critical. This role supports cloud delivery uplift across AWS and Azure environments, enabling engineering teams to deploy efficiently through robust CI/CD practices.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced CI/CD Engineer to automate and streamline the software development lifecycle across cloud environments. You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, integrate DevOps tooling, and support engineering teams to ensure code is built, tested, and deployed reliably across development, staging, and production.

Start: Mid‑June 2026
Locations: Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows across environments.
  • Implement automation and integrate tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes to optimise software delivery.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to embed CI/CD practices and resolve integration/merge issues.
  • Monitor pipelines, identify failures, and troubleshoot to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Drive process improvement by adopting tools and methods that improve pipeline efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Manage version control and release branching to ensure smooth integration and release cycles.
  • Produce and maintain CI/CD documentation, best practices, and reporting updates for stakeholders.
  • Develop migration plans, pipelines, and developer enablement documentation as required.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong DevOps foundations and understanding of modern software delivery principles.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling including Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes and related automation frameworks.
  • Scripting/automation capability (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy) to manage pipelines and automation tasks.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose complex delivery issues and implement effective fixes.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and collaborative engineering environments.
  • Understanding of system administration, networking, and security best practices.
  • 5–10+ years’ hands‑on experience delivering CI/CD services for AWS & Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of AWS & Azure IaaS services.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes(incident, change, problem, configuration management).
Clearance Requirement

  • Must hold an active AGSVA Baseline, NV1, or NV2 clearance.
Desirable Qualifications

  • AWS and/or Azure certifications (Administrator, DevOps, or equivalent).  
  • Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
