About the Role
The division responsible for ICT services provides a range of enabling functions and operational delivery to the organisation and to Australian businesses and is seeking experienced and motivated Solution Architects to support the delivery of various ICT projects, including initiatives involving artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The organisation primarily uses Microsoft Azure, M365, Dynamics 365 and DevOps platforms.
Role Responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer or Solution Architect, preferably within a federal government environment.
- Solid expertise in developing high‑level and detailed design solutions for Azure‑based applications.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with Azure virtual network configuration, including hybrid network architecture and cloud‑native web ingress patterns.
- Familiarity with cyber security controls (ISM), OWASP and Essential Eight within federal government contexts.
- Detailed technical knowledge of the Azure cloud platform.
- Ability to work independently, build productive relationships and liaise with stakeholders, including business users, development teams, cloud engineers, cyber security specialists and enterprise architects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into detailed design solutions using concise language, diagrams and accurate technical detail.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience in understanding business requirements and solutioning designs for Azure based cloud environments into HLD and DLD as well as reusable architecture patterns
- Experience implementing and administering Azure cloud Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Azure DevOps highly regarded
- Ability to build productive relationships and work with stakeholders including enterprise architecture groups, cyber security teams, and cloud operations to secure design approval
- Demonstrated experience applying information security concepts and best practices including Information Security Manual (ISM)
