Business Parter - Communication

Description:

To develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure high quality and timely responses are provided to Executives

 

Key functions include building capability to ensure the Portfolio has good understanding of needs and expectations, reviewing and coordinating responses to time sensitive, confidential and complex issues in a busy, high-volume environment.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor and maintain quality assurance measures and protocols to ensure high standards of content and processes are achieved in high stakes environment, characterised by demanding deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Review, coordinate and prepare high quality documents for Ministers and the Secretary on a range of matters that may be sensitive and of interest to the community.
  • Build and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with staff in the Ministry, local districts and other organisations and each Minister’s Office to achieve the Ministry’s objectives when preparing responses and briefs.
  • Work with branches and other organisation executives and staff, identify and develop potential improvements to processes, templates and information that can be applied consistently.
  • Provide a strong customer service focus with key stakeholders and develop and provide training and other help to branches and staff to enable high quality responses and compliance with required processes, templates and records’ management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the operations of the Ministry and other organisations including current issues, upcoming events and relevant parliamentary business.
 

 

The Successful candidate

 

  • Providing information and advice and liaising, consulting and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing own workload within delegations, business rules, work and project plans.
  • Deciding the content of reports, submissions, policies, correspondence and briefs with limited direction from the supervisor.
  • Deciding the content of advice and information provided to Ministry and external stakeholders.
  • Taking ownership for work, being flexible and adaptable, and making suggestions for new policies, strategies or processes to improve branch or agency performance.
  • Decisions which are referred to by a supervisor include:
  • Any decision that will substantially alter the outcomes or timeframe of a project.
  • Major issues or conflicts arising during a project and other duties.
  • Matters requiring higher delegated authority such as approval for expenditure and/or travel.
  • Matters requiring submission to the Minister’s Office and Secretary.
 

Location & Length


Contract Length: 6 months with extension

Pay rate: $58 + Super Per Hour
Work location: St Leonards
