About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Delivery Lead / Coordinator to drive the successful delivery of a critical Essential Eight Uplift Initiative as part of a broader Cyber Security Program within a large government environment.
This role will provide end-to-end delivery leadership across multiple technical and business workstreams, ensuring alignment to cyber security maturity targets and organisational priorities. You will work closely with cyber specialists, enterprise architects, operational teams, and senior stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into practical, measurable outcomes.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in complex environments and can confidently coordinate delivery across multiple moving parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Essential Eight uplift initiative, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives
- Coordinate and integrate multiple work packages across Essential Eight strategies
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies
- Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams across cyber, technical and business areas
- Engage with stakeholders including business, operations, cyber specialists and vendors
- Drive maturity assessments, gap analysis and uplift planning activities
- Monitor and manage risks, issues, dependencies and decision points
- Establish and maintain project governance and reporting frameworks
- Deliver executive-level reporting, dashboards and briefings
- Support stakeholder engagement, communication and change management activities
- Ensure compliance with Queensland Government and cyber security frameworks
- Track delivery progress and proactively address risks and constraints
- Support transition of uplift outcomes into sustainable operational capabilities
Requirements (Mandatory)
- Proven experience delivering complex ICT, cyber security or enterprise transformation programs
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple workstreams in large, complex organisations
- Strong experience in project governance, risk/issue management, scheduling and reporting
- Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, executives and technical specialists
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Solid understanding of cyber security governance, risk, and control frameworks
- Experience delivering Essential Eight or cyber uplift programs
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001
- Experience with maturity assessments, roadmap development and uplift planning
- Public sector or Queensland Government experience
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
- Experience using tools such as MS Project, Jira or similar
