Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior DBA & Service Delivery Lead to take ownership of database operations and service delivery for a mission-critical engineering application suite.
This role combines deep technical database expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high system availability, resolving complex issues, and preparing data environments for future integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a technical support team delivering Level 3 and Level 4 database services
- Oversee database operations including capacity planning, backups, and disaster recovery rehearsals
- Ensure high availability and performance across SQL Server environments
- Provide expert SME support to system integrators for data quality, remediation, and enrichment
- Lead installation, upgrades, and maintenance of SQL Server (2014/2019) platforms
- Collaborate within a SIAM (Service Integration and Management) model, working with multiple vendors
- Drive proactive data stewardship, ensuring data is prepared for future strategic integration programs
- 10+ years’ experience leading technical support or database teams
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2014 & 2019 Enterprise)
- Experience managing high-availability and clustered database environments
- Proven background in data management and migration planning for large-scale enterprise systems (e.g., ERP)
- Experience operating within a SIAM-based IT environment
- Active AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Melbourne (Laverton)
- Long-term 3-year contract on a high-profile government program
