Our client is a leading consultancy embarking on a major transformation of its software configuration management and deployment practices. This role is pivotal in driving the migration from legacy mainframe SCM to modern Git-based solutions and implementing best-in-class DevOps processes.
About the role:
We are seeking expressions of interest from organisations (or exceptional individuals) with a proven track record in DevOps consultancy and mainframe modernisation. You’ll play a key role in consulting with stakeholders, designing new ways of working, and leading the implementation of modern CI/CD pipelines and Git-based SCM solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with customer stakeholders to define and implement new DevOps processes and approaches.
- Lead the migration from legacy Endevor mainframe SCM to a Git-based SCM solution (potentially cloud-based).
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and build/deployment cycles using IBM mainframe tooling.
- Innovate and communicate new processes, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and alignment.
- Oversee the end-to-end design and delivery of modern DevOps solutions.
- Collaborate with technical SMEs for mainframe build and deployment tooling.
- Generate documentation and training materials for new processes and approaches.
- Proven experience migrating SCM from legacy mainframe (Endevor) to Git-based solutions.
- Strong consulting skills with the ability to define, design, and implement new ways of working.
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, DevOps governance, and risk management.
- Experience in innovation and change leadership within DevOps environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience in DevOps modernisation and transformation projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong communication and change management skills.
- Able to work in Australia AEST business hours, with flexibility for extended hours and weekend work as required.
- Willingness to travel to client sites with prior written approval.
This is a contract role (6–8 months) with remote and onsite work options, starting 5th January 2026. You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, secure, and high-impact DevOps solutions in a dynamic enterprise environment.
