DevOps Engineers

The Role:

The role spans all stages of the software development lifecycle, applying approved development and security standards while adapting predictive or agile approaches. It focuses on automating CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure, and implementing infrastructure-as-code using platforms such as AWS and VMware.

The role ensures security-by-design, monitoring, observability, and cost optimisation, while collaborating across development, operations, and business teams. The engineer drives continuous delivery, reliability, and operational excellence, contributing to organisational standards and advancing DevOps capabilities.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in DevOps engineering with a strong focus on automating infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows using modern cloud‑native tooling and practices.
  • Hands‑on expertise with AWS services—particularly Fargate, CloudWatch, and IAM—with the ability to configure, secure, and monitor containerised workloads at scale.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, orchestration, and integration activities across cloud and on‑premise environments.
  • Experience with VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) for provisioning and managing hybrid infrastructure, including blueprint development and lifecycle automation.
  • Working knowledge of FinOps principles, including the ability to analyse cloud consumption, optimise spend, and collaborate with finance and product teams to drive cost‑efficient engineering decisions.
  • Familiarity with security configuration best practice, including RBAC, secrets management, monitoring, and compliance automation across environments.
  • Understanding of encryption standards and PKI concepts, including certificate management, secure communications, and integration with identity and access control systems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, YAML‑based configurations, and Ansible, including configuration management and automated environment provisioning.
  • Strong capability in monitoring and observability practices using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and integration with alerting tools such as AWS SNS and xMatters.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams including architects, technical leads, operations staff, and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in driving adoption of DevOps practices, including automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and secure‑by‑design engineering.
  • Exposure to microservices and API‑driven architectures, with an understanding of container orchestration and service mesh concepts.
