About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced IBM FileNet Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the end‑to‑end design and implementation of FileNet‑based content and case management solutions.
This is a hands‑on technical role, ideal for a specialist who is equally comfortable designing target‑state architectures and working directly in FileNet environments to support build, test, and deployment activities.
The role is onshore (Australia‑wide) and suited to candidates who thrive in delivery‑focused, consultative environments.
Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design
- Design IBM FileNet Content Manager solutions, including:
- Object Stores, document classes, and metadata models
- Foldering strategies and content lifecycle management
- Define end‑to‑end ECM architectures, including integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
- Produce and own:
- High‑Level Designs (HLD)
- Low‑Level Designs (LLD)
- Non‑functional requirements (security, performance, scalability)
- Advise on records management, retention, and compliance requirements.
- Configure and administer:
- IBM FileNet Content Engine
- FileNet Case Manager and/or BPM workflows
- Implement:
- Document ingestion and retrieval patterns
- Security models (roles, permissions, access controls)
- Metadata schemas, indexing, and search
- Support environment setup across DEV / TEST / PROD.
- Work closely with application, integration, and infrastructure teams.
- Support integrations via APIs, middleware, or custom services.
- Troubleshoot FileNet performance, access, and workflow issues.
- Support SIT/UAT, deployment, and post‑go‑live stabilisation.
- Act as the primary FileNet authority for the program.
- Guide and uplift developers, business analysts, and testers on FileNet concepts.
- Provide clear technical advice to architects, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Participate in design walkthroughs and technical governance forums.
- Strong experience as an IBM FileNet SME across design and delivery.
- Deep technical knowledge of FileNet architecture, configuration, and integration.
- Experience translating business and regulatory requirements into scalable ECM solutions.
- Strong documentation and design capability (HLD / LLD).
- Proven experience working across delivery lifecycles (design, build, test, deploy).
- Baseline Security Clearance required (or ability and willingness to obtain).
- Experience working in government or regulated environments is highly regarded.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
