The Functional Consultant – SAP Ariba is responsible for providing expert functional guidance, solution design, configuration, and support across the SAP Ariba suite. This role supports the implementation, enhancement, and optimisation of procurement solutions for Australian government or enterprise clients, ensuring alignment to business requirements and compliance obligations. The position operates within multidisciplinary project teams and works closely with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Manager to lead SAP HANA implementation, upgrade, and migration projects across large-scale enterprise environments. This is a long-term, multi-year contract offering exposure to cutting-edge technology and the chance to work with multidisciplinary teams on internationally significant projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support end‑to‑end SAP Ariba solution design, configuration, and deployment
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements and map processes
- Provide expert advice across Ariba modules such as S2C, P2P, Ariba Network, Contracts, Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, and Guided Buying
- Support integration activities with SAP ERP or S/4HANA
- Develop functional specifications, test scenarios, and support UAT activities
- Analyse issues, troubleshoot system behaviour, and deliver functional enhancements
- Ensure solutions adhere to government or organisational procurement standards and controls
- Prepare documentation including process flows, configuration workbooks, training materials, and design specifications
- Work collaboratively with project managers, developers, testers, and business process owners
- Support change management activities and provide user training when required
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of SAP best practices
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Functional Consultant working with SAP Ariba solutions
- Strong knowledge of Ariba procurement processes and configuration
- Experience integrating Ariba with SAP ECC or S/4HANA
- Ability to lead business workshops and translate requirements into solution designs
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments
- Required Australian Citizenship and Mandatory AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance
- NV1 Clearance is preferred
Desirable Skills
- SAP Ariba certification
- Prior experience delivering projects for Australian federal government agencies
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA procurement and supply chain modules
- Experience with Ariba Guided Buying, Category Management, or Ariba Catalogues
- Familiarity with government procurement frameworks and compliance requirements
