About the Role
 
As a Geospatial Engineer, you will support the development, assessment and integration of geospatial systems and software capabilities within a complex national security environment. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll help shape technical solutions that deliver real-world operational outcomes.
 
Key responsibilities include:
 
Developing, reviewing and assessing geospatial system architectures and software solutions.
Supporting technical roadmaps and capability integration activities.
Evaluating technical feasibility, architectural approaches and implementation risks.
Assessing operational impacts associated with system enhancements and new capabilities.
Identifying interoperability requirements across Defence, intelligence and broader government environments.
Providing engineering input into emerging technology initiatives, including artificial intelligence, automation, advanced data exploitation and space-based capabilities.
Contributing to the successful delivery of complex engineering outcomes within a secure environment.
The Successful Candidate
 
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
 
Demonstrated experience in software engineering and geospatial engineering environments.
Strong understanding of geospatial systems, architectures and capability integration.
Experience assessing technical solutions, implementation approaches and engineering risks.
The ability to work across multiple stakeholders in complex government or Defence environments.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
A proactive approach to supporting innovative technology outcomes.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus extensions
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) or DISA(Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment) may be required for this position.
