Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ / DataPower Delivery Consultant to lead the assessment, upgrade, migration, and security uplift of IBM MQ Appliances across multiple environments.
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring deep technical expertise in messaging platforms, high availability configurations, and enterprise integration architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assessment and review of existing IBM MQ appliance environments (standalone and HA)
- Analyse deployment patterns, resilience, and dependencies (IAM, SIEM, cloud integrations)
- Define target architecture and technical design for upgraded environments
- Configure and implement IBM MQ M2003 appliances
- Plan and execute end-to-end migration across environments (Dev → Production/DR)
- Support cutover, validation, and stabilisation activities post go-live
- Review and enhance MQ security models and implement improvements
- Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams and stakeholders
- Assist with issue resolution and performance tuning post-implementation
- 10+ years’ experience with IBM MQ, including MQ Appliances
- Strong expertise in high availability, clustering, and messaging architecture
- Proven experience delivering complex integration or messaging solutions
- Experience with large-scale migrations and production cutovers
- Strong understanding of enterprise security (IAM, certificates, SIEM)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and delivery capability
