The Departments requires an ICT Sourcing Specialist for the period of July – Oct 2026 to provide support for Intelligence and Information Systems Division’s (IISD) ICT sourcing activities. This includes but is not limited to software, hardware, labour hire, professional services and cloud services.
The initial engagement will be for up to 4 months between 1 July – 30 October 2026 and will contain 2 x 12-month extension options. Extension and hours will be subject to available budget and need for additional resourcing. For example, if an extension is possible, the successful candidate may be offered part-time hours for the extension period.
Key duties and responsibilities
The ICT Sourcing Specialist’s immediate role will be to manage end-to-end ICT procurement activities on behalf of IISD, including to conduct procurement planning with IISD sections, enforce compliance with procurement policies, draft approval documentation, review statements of requirement, publish requests for quote, facilitate evaluations and negotiations, draft contracts and obtain section 48 approvals.
The role also requires the ability to navigate the complex licensing arrangements and technical requirements for the renewal of products such as Horizon, Veeam, Oracle, VMWare and Red Hat (Linux).
The ICT Sourcing Specialist may also be required to:
- Assist with the creation, maintenance, and implementation of ICT Sourcing artefacts and governance arrangements.
- Conduct strategic procurement activities and reporting.
- Other activities as required and requested
The ICT Sourcing Team provides procurement support for Intelligence and Information Systems Division (IISD) and ICT sourcing activities.
Essential criteria
- Ability to apply Commonwealth procurement policies including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Digital Transformation Policies and the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework
- Experience conducting ICT procurements using the BuyICT Marketplaces
- Ability to quickly understand and effectively use an agency’s procurement policy, systems and templates
- Experience negotiating and drafting contracts using the BuyICT Marketplace or Digital Sourcing templates
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive relationships
- Qualification in ICT Procurement and Contracting or related field
Contract - 4 months Contract with 2 x 12 month extension
