The System Software Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organisation's critical software infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of our system software, encompassing everything from operating systems and middleware to specialised data management products. The successful candidate will manage a hybrid environment, ensuring that our technology infrastructure—including EDRMS and database systems—is optimised and scalable.
Primary Duties:
- System Administration & Infrastructure Management
- Manage and support the functioning of technology infrastructure, including operating systems, infrastructure software, and utility software.
- Oversee data management products, office automation tools, and middleware to ensure seamless integration and uptime.
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments and Oracle databases using SQL
- Manage and optimise system software within hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Performance Optimisation & Troubleshooting
- Continuously monitor and optimise the performance of system software to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain diagnostic tools and procedures for system software troubleshooting and performance analysis.
- Lead the resolution of complex service problems related to system software components.
- Lifecycle & Update Management
- Review, evaluate, and plan system software updates and upgrades.
- Handle the provisioning, configuration, and testing of software updates to ensure stability before deployment to production.
- Manage the lifecycle of information management systems and EDRMS.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Server Administration:Proven experience in Windows Server administration.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Infrastructure Support: Experience managing middleware, operating systems, and utility software.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in the ACT . 12-month contract with 2x12 - month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a TSPV security clearance.
