The Role:
The Project Manager will oversee planning, scheduling, stakeholder engagement, risk and issue management, governance reporting, and quality assurance across all phases. This includes ensuring compliance with cyber security standards, managing scope, and coordinating technical teams to deliver secure, resilient, and auditable solutions.
Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience delivering large-scale IT projects within the Australian Federal Government or similar regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, such as the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential Eight.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, including senior executives and external vendors.
• Expertise in project governance, risk management, and compliance with government security standards.
• Skilled in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for multi-million-dollar projects.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, with a focus on iterative security improvements.
• Strong leadership qualities to motivate cross-functional teams and drive project outcomes under tight deadlines.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in the ACT. 12-month contract with 1 x 12-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a baseline security clearance
