About the Role
We are seeking two Lead Business Architects to drive the development and evolution of enterprise-wide business architecture models that shape future business processes, ICT systems, and organisational capability.
You’ll be instrumental in aligning business strategy with enterprise transformation activities, ensuring that technology directions and business objectives remain tightly integrated. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll help guide decisions on strategic capability, design future-state operating models, and influence the organisation’s architectural governance.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Translating business strategies and objectives into scalable operating models.
  • Assessing current enterprise capabilities and identifying pathways to reach target states.
  • Creating, iterating and maintaining architectural models and views that support future organisational evolution.
  • Embedding enterprise architecture practices to support agile and iterative delivery.
  • Interpreting business drivers and documenting constraints, standards and principles.
  • Supporting organisational transformation across structure, processes, information, data and systems.
  • Providing guidance on cloud‑based opportunities and benefits.
  • Validating requirements, ensuring solution alignment with enterprise standards, and contributing to both HLDs and DDDs.
  • Maintaining architectural artefacts and ensuring effective knowledge transfer to internal staff.
This role requires onsite work in Canberra, with flexible arrangements negotiable. Successful candidates must complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.
The Successful Candidate
You are an experienced Business Architect with a proven track record operating at the enterprise level in complex ICT environments. You bring a strategic mindset, excellent stakeholder capability, and strong modelling and analytical skills.
You will have:
  • 6+ years’ experience in business architecture or closely related roles.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles and the role of the Business Architect.
  • Strong experience leading business process improvement initiatives and driving innovative approaches to organisational change.
  • Proven capability aligning technology strategy to business mission and documenting this through architectural models.
  • Demonstrated experience in business modelling across processes, data and roles to support decision‑making.
  • Experience assessing emerging technologies and providing strategic advice on their applicability.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes.
Technical skills highly regarded:
  • Business Process Modelling

  • TOGAF 10
  • ArchiMate 3.2
  • Orbus iServer
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft Visio
 
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
