Multiple Lead Cyber Threat Analyst

This major Australian government agency is responsible for gathering foreign signals intelligence, defending national networks, and conducting authorised cyber operations to support the nation’s security. About the role/ Experience required:
Cyber Threat Analysts need to understand cyber intrusion activities then use their research skills to provide reporting on threat modelling and intelligence.  EL1 equivalent – encompassing Cloud Security Assessors, Security Operations Analysts.
 
Key duties and responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver complex briefs and cyber threat intelligence on national security issues.
  • Lead advanced research and analysis of cyber threat actors to provide situational awareness and expert insight.
  • Analyse cyber threat event data, integrate all‑source intelligence, and mentor others in identifying and tracking threat actors.
  • Provide expert guidance on analytical tools and techniques for cyber threat assessments.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve procedures and documentation for cyber threat intelligence operations.
  • Design and deliver training workshops for the team.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate to deliver tailored intelligence and support capability growth.
  • Evaluate cyber threat intelligence strategies, initiatives, projects, policies, and procedures.
 
The successful candidate has experience with:
  • Diploma or Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or an intelligence related discipline or equivalent qualification/work experience in either Penetration Testing; Host and/or Network Forensics; Intelligence Analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex threat intelligence/modelling tasks or threat assessments
  • Demonstrated experience in the creation and maintenance of complex cyber security threat reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in analytical tools and techniques used to develop cyber threat activity assessments.
 
Desirable:
  • Certification as CREST Certified Network Intrusion Analyst or CREAT Certified Malware Reverse Engineer highly desirable

Location:
This role can be is based in Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD or Melbourne VIC
Contract terms: 12 month contract + 2x12 month extensions
Security Requirements:  Candidates require Australian citizenship along with an active NV1 (or above) clearance.  Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification, and any other client requested checks.
