About the Role
We are seeking experienced Software Engineers (Developers) to contribute to the delivery of multiple modern ICT initiatives. Working as part of agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams, you will design, build and support secure, scalable digital solutions across backend and frontend technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building and maintaining secure .NET (8/10) backend services and REST APIs using modern API standards (versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2/OIDC)
- Developing React-based front-end applications that integrate seamlessly with APIs and meet accessibility standards
- Delivering end-to-end system integrations across internal and third-party platforms, including event-driven and messaging-based architectures
- Implementing secure coding practices, SDLC controls and managing secrets and credentials
- Writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration and UI) and enforcing quality through CI/CD pipelines
- Participating in code reviews, contributing to agreed architecture standards, and producing technical documentation and operational handover materials
- Working closely with product, UX, security and operations teams in an agile delivery environment
- Communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contributing to a culture of learning and collaboration
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on engineering experience and a proactive, delivery-focused mindset. You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in software engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Extensive experience (10+ years) designing and delivering secure web solutions across backend and frontend technologies
- Strong expertise in modern .NET, ASP.NET Web APIs, RESTful API design, and React
- Solid experience working in Azure cloud environments, including App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus/Event Grid, API Management and monitoring tools
- Proven capability with DevOps and CI/CD, automated testing frameworks, and modern quality engineering practices
- Experience with API‑led delivery, including governance, performance optimisation and security patterns
- A strong security mindset, familiarity with government security controls, and the ability to work effectively across distributed teams
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach and willingness to mentor and support others

Location: Canberra, ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions at our clients discretion.
Experience Level: Senior – APS6 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizens with an active Baseline or higher security clearance.
