About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Network Engineer to support the operation of a secure network gateway environment.
This role is ideal for junior to mid-level engineers or those looking to expand their experience in network operations, security gateways, and incident management. You will be responsible for managing network devices, resolving incidents, and ensuring the stability and performance of critical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain customer gateway infrastructure and services
- Perform change management activities, including implementation of network changes
- Configure and support devices including:
- Routers
- Firewalls
- Proxies
- DNS servers
- Load balancers
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents and connectivity issues
- Monitor and respond to system health alerts
- Provide service desk support, including ticket triage and prioritisation
- Manage internal and external communications with stakeholders and customers
- Respond to customer queries and support requests via phone/email
Key Requirements
- Degree in IT or 1+ years’ experience in networking / IT support roles
- Hands-on experience with:
- Linux environments
- DNS, firewalls, and network infrastructure
- Exposure to enterprise technologies such as:
- F5, VMware, proxies, email gateways
- Industry certifications (or working towards):
- Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, ITIL
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments
Nice to Have
- Experience working in Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) environments
- Exposure to AWS cloud platforms
- Knowledge of scripting or automation
- Experience with Dev tools (e.g. Visual Studio, code repositories)
- Exposure to AI or automation technologies
Security & Eligibility Requirements
- Must hold or be eligible for NV1 Security Clearance
Working Conditions
- 24/7 rotating shift roster, including day/night shifts and weekends
- Typical pattern includes 12-hour shifts with structured rotation cycles
