About the Role
We are seeking an Operations Support Officer to join a high-performing ICT team in Canberra. This is a hands-on role focused on the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of a production environment.
You will work across a diverse technology stack, supporting users, monitoring systems, assisting with deployments and upgrades, managing incidents and changes, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of operational processes and documentation. This role would suit a systems administrator or ICT support professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working closely with stakeholders, and keeping critical systems running smoothly.
Role Responsibilities
- Monitor system and service performance to ensure operational health and availability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting across the production environment.
- Assist with system builds, deployments, upgrades, and configuration activities.
- Manage user accounts and access administration activities.
- Support incident, problem, request and change management processes.
- Conduct regular system health checks and operational maintenance activities.
- Assist with the management of production applications and supporting infrastructure.
- Contribute to asset management and lifecycle activities for hardware and software.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver user guidance, onboarding support, and training where required.
- Work collaboratively with technical teams to transition new capabilities into production environments.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience in:
- Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support roles.
- PowerShell or similar scripting and automation technologies.
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, LDAP, and identity services.
- Microsoft Exchange or similar enterprise messaging platforms.
- Endpoint management platforms such as SCCM, MECM, Tanium, or similar tools.
- Cisco networking and general infrastructure support.
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) administration or exposure.
- IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Windows Server administration and enterprise environments.
- Technical documentation and diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio.
- Supporting secure or highly regulated ICT environments.
