About the End Client
The end client is a large public sector organisation operating within a regulated environment and undertaking a significant Oracle platform modernisation program, including a 12c to 19c upgrade. This role plays a critical part in ensuring reliable data replication, availability, and performance across enterprise systems.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Oracle GoldenGate Database Administrator to support a major enterprise database upgrade and replication initiative. You will be responsible for managing Oracle databases and GoldenGate replication environments, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and performance across complex systems.
This is a 12‑month contract commencing mid‑March, with strong potential for extension based on delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Oracle database environments, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Implement and manage Oracle GoldenGate for real‑time data replication and disaster recovery.
- Support the Oracle 12c to 19c upgrade across enterprise platforms.
- Monitor and tune database and replication performance, including SQL, indexing, and replication processes.
- Review, design, and optimise existing GoldenGate configurations in line with best practices.
- Provide DBA support across multiple RDBMS platforms, including DDL management and partitioning.
- Develop and maintain clear operational and technical documentation.
- Support database design, upgrades, and ongoing operational improvements.
- Ensure database security, compliance, and adherence to organisational standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and replication issues in production environments.
- 5+ years’ experience as an Oracle GoldenGate DBA.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle 12c and 19c architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with Oracle GoldenGate across heterogeneous environments.
- DBA experience across multiple RDBMS platforms (Oracle, NSK), including performance tuning and partitioning.
- Strong experience with Linux and NSK operating systems.
- Solid understanding of database security and compliance requirements.
- Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with cloud‑based database solutions is desirable.
- Oracle certification (OCP) preferred.
- AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance(mandatory).
- Multiple locations available including Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Adelaide.
- Long‑term 12‑month contract supporting a critical enterprise database and replication uplift.
