Power Apps Technical Lead

Power Apps Tech Lead (Microsoft Power Platform)

About the Consultancy

Join a leading international consultancy delivering enterprise-scale digital and technology transformation programs across highly regulated industries globally. Our teams build modern workplace and operational solutions that improve productivity, uplift service capability, and support long-term platform scalability.

About the End Client

The end client is a large enterprise organisation operating within a complex, highly governed environment. This role supports an internal operational capability uplift—building a targeted Power Apps solution that enables better monitoring, investigation, and management of production job executions for technical support teams.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Power Apps Tech Lead to own and lead delivery of a Power Apps user interface integrated to a SQL Server-based job execution framework database. This is a single-person technical leadership role, where you will guide development (including offshore build support) and ensure a clean, scalable solution that future engineering teams can extend.

You’ll build functionality that empowers L2/L3 Production Support teams to search, monitor, and manage job executions—providing intuitive screens to track job status, investigate failures, and manage execution records.

Contract details: likely 6+ months. Melbourne preferred, with remote/hybrid options potentially available depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development end-to-end (including guiding offshore development) for a Power Apps solution integrated with a SQL-based framework database.
  • Build features for Production Support (L2/L3) teams to search, monitor, and manage job execution outcomes.
  • Design simple, efficient UI screens for internal users to track job status, investigate failures, and manage execution records.
  • Integrate Power Apps with SQL Server to query, display, and update job execution data.
  • Ensure code is clean, maintainable, and extensible so engineering teams can add components in future.
  • Apply Power Apps best practices and enterprise coding standards including reusable components, error handling, and performance optimisation.
  • Work within full SDLC expectations—from design through build, test, deployment, and handover.
Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–6+ years experience in Microsoft Power Apps / Power Platform development.
  • Strong capability designing and building Power Apps UI experiences for internal enterprise users.
  • Experience integrating Power Apps with SQL Server(data retrieval, updates, operational reporting views).
  • Strong understanding of Power Apps development best practices, including: reusable components, code optimisation, structured error handling, and collaboration/co-development approaches.
  • Experience supporting or building operational dashboards and/or solutions aligned to job execution frameworks.
  • Comfortable operating as a single lead, coordinating delivery activities and ensuring engineering-quality outputs.
Nice to Have

  • Previous experience delivering similar internal UI solutions in a governed enterprise environment, with code managed in local space/source control for future extension by engineering teams.
  • Exposure to enterprise Power Apps guidelines and patterns for maintainability and long-term ownership.
What’s on Offer?

  • This is a rolling 6 month contract opportunity to go for a total of 1-3 years.
  • Sydney location with hybrid flexibility.
  • High-impact opportunity to uplift Production Support capability through a modern Power Platform solution.
  • Ownership role—shape the design, build, and long-term maintainability of a solution engineered for future extensibility.
