About the Role
The Principal Business Analyst role focuses on developing and executing data governance frameworks and strategies, including implementing S/4 HANA solutions, to enhance data quality and streamline processes. Additionally, it involves delivering a 12-month AI roadmap to foster innovation and align data solutions with organisational priorities. The role also emphasises collaboration with stakeholders on key projects to identify and implement data management improvements, while providing leadership through workshops and mentoring to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Governance and Strategy
- Framework Development: Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks and standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with organisational objectives.
- S/4 HANA Archiving Solutions: Deploy archiving solutions (C61 and C62) within S/4 HANA to optimise data storage, improve accessibility, and support long-term data management.
- Master Data Management: Establish processes for master data management and business rule deployment to enhance data accuracy, reliability, and integration across systems.
- AI Roadmap Creation: Develop a detailed 12-month Artificial Intelligence roadmap based on prioritised use cases, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and strategic priorities.
3. Collaboration and Improvement
- Project Support: Partner with teams on critical projects (e.g., Payroll Optimisation, Plan to Report) to identify opportunities for data management enhancements and process improvements.
- Workshops and Training: Lead workshops and training sessions to build team capacity, foster collaboration, and ensure consistent understanding of data management practices.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Provide mentorship to teams, guiding them in implementing best practices and achieving high-quality project outcomes.
The Successful Candidate
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise systems, particularly S/4 HANA, including data archiving solutions (e.g., C61 and C62).
- Experience in implementing data governance frameworks, master data management, and business rule deployment to improve data quality.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence applications and their role in driving innovation and operational efficiency.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps, such as a 12-month AI roadmap, to align data solutions with organisational priorities.
- Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for process optimisation and data-driven decision-making.
- Capacity to evaluate and prioritise use cases to maximise organisational impact and innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, mentor teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate on key projects (e.g., Payroll Optimisation, Plan to Report) and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams towards shared goals.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- A results-driven mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes, such as cost optimisation, streamlined processes, and enhanced decision-making.
- Resilience and adaptability to navigate challenges and maintain high performance in a dynamic environment.
- A degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Data Management, Artificial Intelligence, or Business Administration (desirable).
- Certifications in enterprise systems such as SAP S/4 HANA (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate).
- Data governance and management certifications, such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent.
What’s on
Contract to start in May 2026 running until April 2027 with potential extensions.
